About Me

I have been an educator since 2011, dedicating my career to helping students discover the power of literacy, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. I began my teaching career in Naples, Florida, where I taught English, Reading, Television Production, and Theatre. As a theatre director, I had the opportunity to direct a variety of productions, including High School Musical On Stage, Little Shop of Horrors, Sister Act, Clue, and She Kills Monsters (Young Adventurers Edition).

After earning my Master of Library and Information Science, I transitioned into school librarianship in Florida before continuing as a school librarian in Connecticut. I later returned to the classroom as a middle school reading teacher, where I also serve as a district curriculum writer, student leadership advisor, and coordinator of educational travel experiences, including annual eighth-grade trips to New York City. Alongside my work in literacy and curriculum, I have completed administrative training and earned Connecticut certification in Intermediate Administration and Supervision, preparing me to support schools through instructional leadership.

I hold a B.A. in English and Writing from Central Connecticut State University, an M.S. in Secondary English Education from the University of New Haven, and an MLIS. from Wayne State University. When I'm not teaching or writing, you'll usually find me reading, working on my novel, playing video games, enjoying a great cup of coffee, or spending time with my corgi, Shakespeare, and my cat, Foster.
